Once Human isn’t just about collecting Deviants and weapon mods; it’s also about gathering the feral animals you encounter! This unique aspect adds a layer of depth to the gameplay, allowing players to immerse themselves in the vibrant ecosystem of Nalcott. With a recent update introducing ranching, players can now capture and tame various creatures, transforming their bases into lively sanctuaries.
Not only does taming animals enhance your gameplay experience, but it also offers new strategies for resource collection and base defense. As you embark on your journey in Once Human, the variety of creatures you encounter will enrich your adventures and interactions within the game.
Once Human celebrated a recent update that introduced the exciting feature of ranching! Players can now capture many of the animals they encounter throughout Nalcott, allowing them to keep these creatures at their bases. While taming is a time-consuming process, it is rewarding, as these animals can serve as passive resource sources or guardians for your base.
In total, there are 16 animals that players can tame. However, it’s crucial to know that corrupted variants are not tamable. For a complete list of these animals and their locations, refer to the table below:

As players explore the world of Once Human, they will undoubtedly notice various animals that are not part of the tamable list. Some of these include foxes, raccoons, capybaras, and even jaguars. The game has also introduced new creatures, such as pelicans, crows, and snapping turtles, but these animals remain untouchable.
To quickly identify which animals are tamable, players can look for a white line on the health bar. This line indicates how much an animal's health needs to be reduced before it can be captured. If an animal lacks this line, it is not catchable.
Additionally, Eclipse and Corrupted animals are also uncapturable, which is why some crocodiles found in locations like Harborside and Blackfell do not appear on the tamable list!
