How to Find the Ghost in Convalescence: Rootbound
At the end of the Final Shape campaign, you will be introduced to Micah, who describes herself as a shepherd for lost Ghosts. Scattered throughout the galaxy are numerous lost Ghosts, and to begin Micah's first quest, you must obtain the Ergo Sum exotic quest titled "Destined Heroes" from your Ghost in the Lost City after completing the mission Iconoclasm.
Once you have the quest, speak to Micah at her Conduit in the viewing room of the Lost City, where she will provide you with the quest named Rootbound. Your next destination is The Landing in the Pale Heart, so prepare for the journey!
The Journey to Forgotten Deep Lost Sector
Upon arriving at The Landing, your objective is to navigate straight across the map, veering slightly to the right. You'll pass beneath a stone arch, with a bridge ahead and tunnels on your right. Your target is the Forgotten Deep Lost Sector, a place where adventure awaits!
As you venture through the tunnels, follow the path as it inclines to the right. An opening in the rock wall will lead you into the Forgotten Deep Lost Sector. Here, you'll need to fight your way through various enemies until you reach the boss room.
Defeating the Boss and Finding the Ghost
Once you enter the boss room, you'll notice a tree immediately in front of you. It’s advisable to eliminate the boss and its Hive minions before investigating the area. After vanquishing the boss, return to the tree where the Ghost is tucked away among the roots. This is a key moment in your quest!
Returning to the Lost City and Completing the Quest
To complete your journey, return to the Lost City and head into the viewing room. At the stairs near the entrance, your Ghost will be found examining the roots. Interact with your Ghost to receive a hopeful message, then approach Micah’s Conduit to finish the quest, Convalescence: Rootbound. You will be rewarded with a red border weapon, specifically the shotgun named Someday!
