Where to Find the Stained Glass Puzzle in BG3

From there, head North until you arrive at the Rosymorn Monastery, a dilapidated ruin currently serving as the home for the Githyanki creche. After viewing the brief cutscene that reveals the Githyanki, you can enter the monastery through several routes. My recommendation is to approach the main door and look to your left, where you will find a broken stained glass window that leads inside.

Upon entering, you will encounter numerous drunken kobolds. It’s crucial to defeat these enemies as they guard key items necessary to solve the stained glass puzzle. Loot their bodies after the battle, as one of them carries the Ceremonial Mace, which is essential for progressing further in the puzzle.

How to Solve the Stained Glass Window Puzzle in BG3

To successfully solve the stained glass window puzzle, you must place the Ceremonial Sword, Warhammer, Battleaxe, and Mace onto the four designated plinths within the room. Once positioned correctly, these items will emit a glow, indicating that you can retrieve the Dawnmaster’s Crest from a pouch embedded in the wall.

Inside the room, you will discover four plinths located at each corner. The Ceremonial Sword is designated for the plinth marked for Dawnmaster Welkinglory. Interacting with the stained glass floor will provide you with descriptions of the four Dawnmasters. The remaining ceremonial items need to be placed on their respective plinths:

• Ceremonial Warhammer = Seed
• Ceremonial Battleaxe = Vaseid
• Ceremonial Mace = Stockhold

After placing all items correctly from your inventory, they should glow, and you can then open the pouch inside the wall to uncover a letter and the coveted Dawnmaster’s Crest.

Ceremonial Warhammer Location

The Ceremonial Warhammer is located atop the roof of Rosymorn Monastery. You’ll need to climb up to find a nest occupied by a mother eagle and her nearly grown chick. The Warhammer rests within this nest, but be warned—engaging with the eagles is nearly unavoidable, and attempts at persuasion or intimidation will likely fail.

If you have the Mage Hand spell, you can attempt to retrieve the weapon from a distance. However, be prepared for a fight if you choose to combat the eagles directly. Once they are defeated or you successfully use the Mage Hand, you can claim the Ceremonial Warhammer.

Ceremonial Battleaxe Location

The Ceremonial Battleaxe can be found just down the hall from the stained glass puzzle room. After exiting the puzzle room, turn left and jump over the crack in the floor. Continue straight until you reach a wooden door, which is blocked by furniture. You will need to break through these obstacles to gain entry.

Inside, you’ll encounter a Guardian of Faith standing in a glowing ring. Once you defeat this guardian, you will be able to take the Ceremonial Battleaxe from the room.

Ceremonial Mace Location

As previously mentioned, the Ceremonial Mace is located on one of the kobolds found in the first room. This area is filled with wine, making it easy to ignite and defeat the kobolds. After taking them down, search their bodies until you find the one holding the Mace.

What the Dawnmaster’s Crest Does

The Dawnmaster’s Crest allows you to retrieve the Blood of Lathander, a powerful mace worth the effort. However, to obtain this item, you must navigate through Creche Y’llek until you reach the Inquisitor’s chambers. In one of the rooms on the western side, you will find two statues that need to be rotated to match the riddle about the rising and setting sun: the left statue should face East, while the right statue must face West.

After aligning the statues, you can enter through a secret passage leading down the stairs to another room. In this final area, you need to break the crystal Energy Source to pass through an archway. There are multiple Energy Sources to find, so be vigilant as you navigate traps in the area.

Once you reach the altar with the Blood of Lathander, use the Dawnmaster’s Crest to claim it. Alternatively, you can choose to seize the mace directly, but be aware that this will trigger a trap that could destroy the remaining structure of Rosymorn Monastery. Ensure you have an escape plan ready!
