WWE 2K24: Crossplay And Cross-Progression Insights For Gamers

WWE 2K24 is here, once again letting you lay the smackdown on your favorite (and least favorite) wrestlers. But if you plan on playing on more than one platform, you might wonder if WWE 2K24 has crossplay or cross-progression. Here’s what you need to know.

This installment of the popular wrestling game franchise has generated a lot of buzz among fans, particularly regarding its online features. As gamers look for ways to connect with friends across different consoles, the absence of crossplay is a significant point of discussion. In this article, we will delve into the details of crossplay and cross-progression in WWE 2K24, providing clarity on what players can expect.

Many players are excited about what WWE 2K24 brings to the table, but understanding its limitations can help in making informed decisions. Knowing whether you can carry over your progress or play with friends on different platforms might just influence your gaming experience. Let's explore these features in depth!

Does WWE 2K24 Have Crossplay or Cross-Progression?

WWE 2K24 has no crossplay, but it does feature limited cross-progression. This means that when you go online, you can only play WWE 2K24 against players on the same machine—like PS4 with PS4, Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Series X|S, and PC with PC. Unfortunately, cross-platform or cross-generation gameplay is not available.

This was confirmed back in February. While the 2K producer has expressed interest in enabling crossplay in future WWE 2K titles, it is completely absent in WWE 2K24. It might be a feature in WWE 2K25, but for now, fans of WWE 2K24 will have to make do without it.

As for cross-progression, if you create a 2K account, your VC and progression will carry over from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, and vice versa. There is also a single create-a-wrestler pool, which means that wrestlers created on one platform will be available on all platforms. However, it's important to note that DLC does not transfer, and you cannot bring your progress across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

In a gaming landscape where crossplay and cross-progression are becoming more common, it's clear that 2K is lagging behind. The takeaway is that WWE 2K24 lacks crossplay and has only a limited form of cross-progression.

With a price tag of $59.99, players hoping to enjoy the game with friends on multiple platforms might feel the pinch. Hopefully, an update that introduces crossplay will alleviate some of these concerns for avid WWE fans.
