Whether you want hearts or you just like a good fight, there are all kinds of dragons that you can fight within Elden Ring. This immersive game is filled with fierce battles and mythical creatures that await your challenge. In this guide, we will explore the exact locations of all the named dragons in The Lands Between, providing you with valuable insights on what to expect during your encounters.
There are 12 named dragons scattered across the expansive map of Elden Ring. While there are many more dragon-like beasts lurking around, most of them serve as elite enemies rather than full-blown bosses. This guide will assist you in pinpointing the exact locations of every dragon boss, ensuring you are well-prepared for the fierce battles that lie ahead.
As you journey through the Lands Between, you will encounter various dragons that offer not only challenging fights but also valuable rewards. Below, we will detail each dragon's location, along with insights on how to approach each battle effectively.
Flying Dragon Agheel is located north of the Dragon Burnt Ruins in Limgrave. This dragon is likely the first you will encounter, found near a lake to the east of where you start the game. Facing Agheel will prepare you for more challenging fights ahead, so be ready!
Glintstone Dragon Smarag can be found directly west of the Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia of the Lakes. This dragon is usually encountered shortly after Agheel, and you will find it resting beside a key that leads to the academy. Be prepared to strategize your approach as this dragon can be quite formidable!
To find Magma Wyrm Makar, head to the top of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice in Liurnia of the Lakes. This area requires navigating the border between the lakes and the Altus Plateau, and defeating Makar allows you to access the Plateau without using the lift.
You can find Decaying Ekzykes southeast of the Caelid Highway South Site of Grace. While not as significant as other dragon fights, this optional boss can be tricky due to the scarlet rot. Utilize your mount, Torrent, to navigate the area effectively.
The battle against Ancient Dragon Lansseax takes place south of the Rampartside Path in the Altus Plateau. This dragon is encountered near the center of the Plateau, and the fight may extend beyond your initial encounter, so be prepared for a drawn-out battle!
Flying Dragon Greyoll can be found on the bridge to Guranq in northeastern Caelid. This location restricts your movement, so it's wise to utilize the limited space to your advantage during the fight.
Elder Dragon Greyoll is located directly west of Fort Faroth in eastern Caelid. This massive dragon will be sleeping when you arrive, presenting an opportunity for a sneak attack—though be wary, as it has an enormous health pool!
Great Wyrm Theodorix can be found at the eastern end of the frozen river in the Consecrated Snowfields. This dragon is regarded as one of the toughest bosses, so prepare yourself for a fierce showdown!
Borealis the Freezing Fog is found on the frozen lake in the eastern section of the Mountaintops of the Giants. As you navigate this area, be prepared for its massive health pool and freezing attacks!
Glintstone Dragon Adula is located in front of the Cathedral of Manus Celes in Liurnia of the Lakes. You will need to progress through Ranni’s questline to reach this area, making it an important stop on your journey.
Lichdragon Fortissax can be found at the northern end of the Deeproot Depths. Like Adula, this dragon requires you to complete an entire quest line to reach it, adding another layer of complexity to the encounter.
