Gator Boys used to be one of Animal Planet’s most exciting shows. Capturing and handling “nuisance” gators was the show’s main attraction. Every episode was a potentially life-threatening experience. Almost 10 years have passed since the show ended, and fans may be wondering, what happened to Paul Bedard and the rest of the Gator Boys?
After Gator Boys ended, Paul Bedard continued to run his alligator rescue center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His rescue center, Everglades Holiday Park, is also a place where visitors can take rides on airboats through Florida’s Everglades. Guests can enjoy seeing “alligator wrestlers,” going on guided tours, and engaging with some of the alligators and other reptiles.
Instead of returning to reality TV, Paul now runs his own YouTube channel, GatorBoys7, to help fund his rescue center. The channel features similar content to Gator Boys, but now Paul works independently to catch, preserve, and train alligators.
Paul's right-hand man, Jimmy Riffle, is currently dedicated to running a wildlife park called Scales, Tails, and Teeth, where he offers a reptile roadshow. For those interested in Jimmy’s interaction with reptiles, their parks are open, and contact information is available on the park’s site.
As for Ashley Lawrence, the only gator girl of the bunch, she also continues to perform hands-on work with reptile and crocodile centers. According to Distractify, she works at Zoo Miami. Since the end of Gator Boys, she has also participated in several fundraisers, including the Orinoco Repatriation Project, which aims to return Orinoco crocodiles to their home habitat in South America.
Outside of these main three, other former cast members like Andy, Scott, Allan, Curtis, and others are still active in wildlife preservation, continuing their mission to protect and educate others about these incredible creatures.
Gator Boys first premiered in 2012, with long-time friends and colleagues Paul and Jimmy at the center of the show. Initially based out of Florida’s Everglades, the later seasons also featured the team capturing alligators in Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. The show concluded in 2015 after some of the Gator Boys parted ways for business reasons.
Today, fans can still enjoy Gator Boys as it is available to stream on platforms like Pluto TV and others. The legacy of the show continues through the dedicated work of its former cast members, who remain committed to wildlife conservation and education.
For those who followed the adventures of the Gator Boys, their journey after the show offers a glimpse into their dedication to alligators and wildlife preservation. Their passion continues to inspire fans and animal lovers alike.
