The Facet of Generosity in Destiny 2 is hard to get, but it is definitely worth it if you want to have access to all the options the new Prismatic class will give you. This new feature is not just a game-changer; it opens up a whole new realm of strategies and gameplay styles for players. However, the journey to obtaining this facet is filled with challenges and intricate steps, requiring both time and effort.
There are a lot of steps and time involved in this one, but it is mostly stuff you need to do anyway, so prepare to just put the work in. Players will find that the rewards are well worth the effort, especially for those looking to enhance their gaming experience in Destiny 2. The following guide will break down how to successfully unlock the Facet of Generosity and what it offers to your gameplay.
To gain access to the Facet of Generosity, you must first complete the entire Final Shape campaign. This is your starting point. Once you finish all the campaign missions and reach the mission titled Iconoclasm, you’ll be on your way to unlocking this powerful facet.
Once you reach this point, you will have access to some exotic quests and new characters in the Lost City, located in the Pale Heart area. One of these characters is Micah, who you can find by heading down the stairs and through a small tunnel where you first claimed your Prismatic abilities during the campaign. Micah will offer a series of missions called “Alone in the Dark,” which are crucial for acquiring the Facet of Generosity.
As you progress through these missions, you will encounter Cyst missions where you can find enemies that drop items known as Memory Vestige: Light. These items initially drop as Rare blue items. When you collect five of them, they automatically transform into a Legendary version. This transformation triggers a large circle to appear somewhere on your map of the Pale Heart in your Director.
There are three different Legendary versions that can form, and each one leads you to a different Facet. Unfortunately, these are random, so you will need to keep farming until you obtain the one you need. For the Facet of Generosity, aim for the Memory: Blooming of Light. This will direct you to The Blooming, where you’ll find a massive tree at its center. A Prismatic chest will appear amid the tree's roots, so it’s essential to climb up to the tree itself instead of looking in the caves below.
Now, here are some important notes about this quest:
When equipped, the Facet of Generosity enables you to create Orbs of Power for your allies by defeating targets while in a transcendent state. This adds a significant layer of teamwork and strategy to your gameplay, enhancing your role in group activities.
The ability called Transcendence provides unique benefits: you resonate in perfect harmony with both Light and Darkness. With this, you gain increased ability regeneration, enhanced weapon damage, and damage resistance against enemies. Your grenade is replaced with a unique Prismatic grenade that combines multiple damage types, and defeating targets while in a Transcendent state extends its duration.
