The Ultimate Guide To Completing The Purifying Event In Destiny 2’s Final Shape

The Pathfinder is a really fun mechanic in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape, sending us all around the Pale Heart to complete challenges. If you have been told to complete the Purifying event at the Divide, then I’ll show you how to get there, and what to do. This exciting event offers players a chance to engage in unique challenges that not only provide entertainment but also yield valuable loot.

These challenges are not just about the thrill; they can get you plenty of new loot, including variant rolls of the Ergo Sum sword. Each event you complete enhances your game experience and adds to your collection. So, let’s dive into how you can successfully navigate the Purifying event.

How to Complete the Purifying Event at the Divide

The first thing to do is mark the relevant event on your map. You can do this by opening the Pathfinder and clicking on the challenge node for the Purifying event. A small green waypoint icon will appear above it, and if you check your Destination map in the Divide, you will see that the event node has turned white.

To reach this node, spawn at The Impasse, then turn around and go through the door behind you as if you were heading for the Facet of Command. Keep making your way back until you reach the ice caves and proceed even further. You will encounter a few enemies along the way, so eliminate them before continuing. When you exit the cave, you will find a corrupted chest, which signifies the beginning of your Purifying event.

During this challenge, you need to roll a tumbleweed into a hole that appears in the ground. The tumbleweed, marked by a waypoint, can be moved by shooting it. It’s recommended to use Hand Cannons, Sidearms, or Auto Rifles as they provide better control.

You need to be careful since the tumbleweed can get stuck on rocks. The goal is to roll it down to the bowl and through the center, where it will catch fire, completing the challenge. Don’t worry if you mess it up; you can retry as needed.

There's a bit of "magnetism" to the bowl, so you don’t have to be overly precise, which is a relief. As you work on this challenge, enemies may spawn, so make sure to eliminate them to avoid distractions. Once you finish, you can open your crate, claim your rewards, and continue progressing on your Pathfinder chart.
